At Cornerstone Animal Hospital, our team is here to help you care for your pet—every step of the way. When your pet has reached his or her senior years, our team at Cornerstone Animal Hospital is here to help both you and your pet through the age-changing process and new life stage. Regular preventative care is even more important for senior pets to prevent or delay the diseases that older animals are more prone to, including kidney, heart, and liver disease, cancers, organ failure, osteoarthritis, hormone disorders, and more. Regular wellness visits also give us an opportunity to discuss any age-related changes that your pet may be experiencing.

Call us immediately if you notice any of the following signs in your pet:

• Sudden weight loss or gain
• Significant decrease or increase in appetite or failure to eat for more than two days
• Noticeable decrease in vision
• Increasing inactivity or amount of time spent sleeping
• Excessive panting
• Hair loss, especially if accompanied by scratching in local area (as opposed to general)
• Seizures or convulsing
