At Cornerstone Animal Hospital, our team is here to ensure that your new kitten receives everything he or she needs to have a healthy start. It is important to bring your new kitten in for an exam as soon as possible to establish good health. Premature and young kittens are especially likely to experience medical issues, as their immune system is not yet fully developed and may be more susceptible to illness and disease.

Vaccination Plans

At Cornerstone Animal Hospital, we believe that a customized vaccination schedule tailored specifically for your kitten maximizes the protection against any diseases or illnesses that he or she is most likely to be exposed to. There are many diseases that are preventable through the judicious use of vaccines, so it is important to create an individualized protocol early in life to protect both your kitten and your family.

Microchipping Your Kitten

Just as vaccines protect your kitten from disease and illness, a microchip will help keep your kitten safe in the event that he or she gets lost. The unique identifier in your kitten’s microchip will help bring them home safely, providing shelters and animal hospitals with your contact information to reunite you and your kitten.

Preparing for the Exam

For your kitten’s first visit, we request that you bring the following:

• Your kitten in a secure carrier
• All paperwork pertaining to the previous care of your kitten including all previous immunizations, deworming, medications and any veterinary records you may have
• Any questions you may have regarding your kitten’s health or behavior
